Tomica die-cast cars are one of the most popular toys among kids — small, detailed, and endlessly collectible. What you might not know is that Tokyo Disney Resort has its own exclusive Tomica lineup, and at one special station you can actually pick the parts and build your own custom car on the spot!
Today we’re covering the Disney Vehicle Factory — the experience where you build an original Tomica modeled on Disney Resort vehicles. A fantastic souvenir pick for kids, so read on before your next visit.
Looking for a souvenir for girls instead? We recommend Pretty Treasure — a pick-3 accessory set available at the same resort. Check out the article below for details.

What Is Disney Vehicle Factory?
Disney Vehicle Factory is a customizable Tomica experience where you choose the body color and window color of a miniature car modeled after Disney Resort vehicles. The cars are genuine Tomica products, produced by Takara Tomy — Tokyo Disney Resort’s official sponsor.
As of August 2025, the current Vol. 3 edition features the Disney Resort Line — the monorail that loops around Tokyo Disney Resort — as the model vehicle.
For reference, Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 were based on the Disney Resort Cruiser, the bus that runs within the resort.
Location: Toy Station (Tokyo Disneyland / World Bazaar)
Price: ¥1,800 per set
Where to Find It
Disney Vehicle Factory is set up inside Toy Station, located in World Bazaar at Tokyo Disneyland. It occupies a clearly marked corner of the shop floor. From outside, look for the large “TOY STATION” sign — the Vehicle Factory station is right underneath, easy to spot.

How to Build Your Tomica
Start by choosing your two parts: the Resort Line body color and the window color. Each comes in three options, giving you 9 possible combinations total.

Once you’ve paid, bring your chosen parts to the assembly booth near the entrance. A Cast Member will assemble the car for you — and before handing it over, they run a quick test-drive right in front of you. Finally, the finished Tomica is placed in an original custom box, and you’re done!

Our Experience at Disney Vehicle Factory
Girls Love It Too!
Our daughter is a girl, so I asked her casually if she’d like to try it — she immediately said yes! She already knows the Disney Resort Line well from riding it at the resort, so the familiar design won her over instantly.
The body colors available were red (Mickey & Minnie), blue (Donald, Huey, Dewey & Louie), and green (Goofy, Chip & Dale). She went straight for red without a second thought. Having Minnie alongside Mickey on the red design is a nice touch — it makes the red option feel genuinely gender-neutral, which I appreciated.

Personally, I thought it’d be fun to see Daisy on the reverse side of the Donald car — or maybe a pink body option featuring Minnie and Daisy could be a hit. Then again, the primary audience is boys, so the current lineup makes sense. She chose red windows to match the body, by the way!
Watching It Come Together — Completely Captivating
After choosing the parts, it’s time to assemble! The Cast Member does the building — kids just watch — but ours did a fantastic job of narrating every step: “See this hole here? I’m going to connect it right now!” They also noticed our daughter’s sightline and suggested she move around for a better view. She was completely glued to the process the whole time.
The assembly ends with a live test-drive, where the finished Tomica rolls across the counter right in front of you. Watching the car she’d chosen come to life and zoom across the track — she was thrilled. Any Tomica fan would feel the same.
The Box Makes It One-of-a-Kind
Once assembled, the Tomica is placed in a special original box — and here’s the surprise. The box features the same Resort Line illustration as the car, but it’s printed in black line art with no color filled in.
The Cast Member explained: “The box is a coloring page — color it in however you like to complete it!” So while there are 9 color combinations for the car itself, every single box can be uniquely colored by the child who owns it. Truly one-of-a-kind. As a parent, I immediately wanted to keep it in perfect condition alongside the car — safely stored forever.

The back of the box even has the official “Tomica” logo printed on it — a genuine Tomica in every sense. Building a one-of-a-kind Tomica isn’t something you can do just anywhere, which makes this a genuinely memorable experience.

Overall Impressions
Choosing parts, watching the assembly, and seeing the test-drive — it’s a uniquely hands-on experience for a theme park. Better yet, the whole thing takes just a few minutes, so you don’t need to carve out a dedicated slot in your schedule. Easy to fit in between rides or shows. Watching my daughter pick her parts almost made me want to build one for myself.

Who Should Try Disney Vehicle Factory?
- Vehicle and transportation fans
- Tomica collectors and enthusiasts
- Anyone looking for a souvenir or gift for a boy
If you or your child loves vehicles, this is a must. Picking the parts yourself makes the finished car feel genuinely yours, and it doubles as a perfect keepsake from your Disneyland visit. Especially recommended as a souvenir for boys.
Other Disney Tomica: In-Park and Outside
Beyond the Disney Vehicle Factory, there are more Disney Tomica options worth knowing about — available both inside and outside the parks.
Inside the park, you’ll find Tomica modeled after park attractions and themed to seasonal events. These are popular collectibles, and many guests buy them as a commemorative purchase tied to a specific visit.
Outside the park, Takara Tomy sells Disney-designed Tomica through regular retail channels. These aren’t attraction-themed, but there are multiple Disney character designs available — including Minnie Mouse and Rapunzel options for girls. Worth browsing before or after your trip.
Final Verdict
Disney Vehicle Factory is a rare opportunity to build your own custom Tomica at Tokyo Disneyland. With parts you choose yourself, a Cast Member-assisted assembly, a live test-drive, and a colorable original box, the whole experience adds up to something truly special. Next time you visit Tokyo Disneyland, make sure to stop by Toy Station and see it for yourself.
