Tokyo Disneyland in Japan is hosting Disney Pal-Palooza “Vanellope’s Sweets Pop World” starting April 9, 2026. Some goods, food, and photo spots have already rolled out a little early, starting in March.

Right across from the park, Sherwood Garden Restaurant at Tokyo Disneyland Hotel is also tying in: it’s running the Disney Pal-Palooza “Vanellope’s Sweets Pop World” Buffet as a special event menu.

In this post, we’re focusing on the dessert lineup — the most-buzzed-about part of the buffet. The desserts are packed with the cute, poppy designs you’d expect from this event, and a few of them are only available right now. Don’t miss it!

The “Vanellope’s Sweets Pop World” Buffet is split into two phases that align with the park event: the first phase runs March 9 – May 10, and the second phase runs May 11 – June 30. Some menu items, including desserts, change between the two.

Pricing differs between lunch and dinner, and between weekdays and weekends/holidays. There are also small differences between lunch and dinner counter menus.

Note: this restaurant uses Priority Seating, so you’ll need to book in advance through the official reservation site.

One change worth flagging — soft drinks are now included in the price. You can help yourself freely from the drink dispenser. Yes, the price went up, but previously soft drinks were billed separately, so being able to pair drinks freely with your food and dessert is a real upgrade.

The Dessert Lineup

From here on, we’ll walk through every dessert on the “Vanellope’s Sweets Pop World” Buffet menu. There are 10 event-themed desserts in total.

Tea & Passion Fruit Mousse

Tea & Passion Fruit Mousse with sugar-art Vanellope on top

This is arguably the headliner of the event menu — and the only whole-cake-style dessert in the lineup. The sugar-art Vanellope on top is adorable.

The outer layer is a black-tea mousse, with a passion fruit mousse hiding inside, and a cocoa sponge layer at the base.

The black-tea mousse is gentle, with the tea aroma drifting up through your nose as you eat — easy to enjoy. The brown color might make you expect chocolate, but there’s no chocolate in there. The passion fruit mousse inside is sweet-tart, and pairing the two together is genuinely delicious.

Overall the sweetness is dialed back, making it really easy to keep eating.

Citrus Composition

Citrus Composition with chocolate straw

That straw-shaped piece sticking out is actually chocolate. “Composition” here means a combination of different things, and this Citrus Composition layers (top to bottom): orange jelly, grapefruit jelly, fresh whipped cream, and what seems to be a mango jelly / mousse / sauce hybrid.

The orange and grapefruit jellies on top are bright and refreshing, while the mango at the bottom is genuinely sweet. The chocolate straw is also on the sweeter side, so eating it together with the bright citrus jellies works really well.

Strawberry Shortcake

Strawberry Shortcake at the buffet

Unlike past events, this version doesn’t have the event logo printed on top — instead, the slices are arranged in two clean rows. The upside? Every slice gets a strawberry on top, which is a nice trade-off.

The flavor matches the regular version: light sponge cake and light cream — an easy-eating shortcake you can keep going back to.

Strawberry Roll Cake

Strawberry Roll Cake with pink sponge

A roll cake with pink sponge cake and pink whipped cream — billed as Strawberry Roll Cake, with a soft, subtle strawberry note. The flavor is gentle enough that even young kids will find it easy to enjoy.

Melon Blanc-Manger

Melon Blanc-Manger with melon and melon sauce

A blanc-manger topped with melon cubes and melon sauce. The melon and the sauce are loud-and-clear melon — bright and refreshing, really tasty. The blanc-manger underneath is rich in milky flavor with a soft sweetness, and it pairs beautifully with the melon on top.

Berry Mousse

Berry Mousse with strawberry on top

Strawberry mousse, full stop. A mousse with a strong strawberry flavor, finished with a tart berry sauce — incredibly tasty. Eating it with the fresh strawberry on top adds juicy brightness and just makes it even better.

Depending on which serving cup you pick up, you might also get a little floral chocolate decoration on the side.

Chocolate Mousse

Chocolate Mousse with coffee cream and sauce

A chocolate mousse topped with coffee-flavored cream and sauce. I expected it to be very sweet, but it actually wasn’t — the bitterness from the coffee cream and sauce on top balances out the sweetness perfectly.

There’s also a crispy element sprinkled on top — a touch salty, which works really well alongside the mousse.

Banana Cake Lollipops

Heart-shaped and round lollipops — visually really cute. They’re chocolate-coated, with a banana cake center, but the cake is dark brown because cocoa is mixed in. You get clear banana flavor along with a noticeable cocoa aroma — really tasty.

The chocolate coating is sweet, but the cake itself is dialed back, making it easy to keep eating. Banana-loving kids in particular will be all over these.

Apricot Macaron

Sandwiched between two orange macaron shells: chocolate cream, apricot pieces, and apricot sauce. The chocolate cream on its own is genuinely sweet — that’s the standout note. Every now and then, the tartness of the apricot and the apricot sauce hits at the same time, and it’s excellent.

If you’re a fan of chocolat orange (chocolate-coated orange peel), this one’s for you.

Cassis Macaron

Between the macaron shells: cassis (blackcurrant) cream wrapped around what seems to be a cassis jam or sauce. One bite and you get serious cassis flavor — really tasty. There’s a slice of orange on the side, and the orange’s tartness plus the slight bitterness of the peel pairs surprisingly well with the cassis. Fantastic combination.

Final Thoughts

So that was the full dessert lineup at the Disney Pal-Palooza “Vanellope’s Sweets Pop World” Buffet, currently running at Sherwood Garden Restaurant inside Tokyo Disneyland Hotel.

Every single dessert looks incredibly cute and tastes excellent. Most are on the milder, less-sweet side, which makes it easy to keep going even after a full buffet meal — I genuinely managed to try them all.

This version of the buffet wraps up on May 10, 2026 — earlier than the park event itself. If it’s on your list, plan ahead and lock in a Priority Seating reservation while you can!
