From April 8, 2025, Tokyo DisneySea has been holding the event “Duffy & Friends 20th Anniversary: Colorful Happiness.” The restaurant “Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina” in Lost River Delta is offering special menu items tied to this event.
This time I’ll report on one of those special items, the “Duffy Special Set (Seafood).”
I’ve also reported on the Beef Keema Stew Rice from the Special Set (Beef) offered at the same restaurant — please take a look if you’re interested (the soup is from the previous event).
What is “Duffy & Friends 20th Anniversary: Colorful Happiness”?
“Duffy & Friends 20th Anniversary: Colorful Happiness” is a limited-time event running from April 8, 2025 to March 19, 2026 at Tokyo DisneySea. As Duffy & Friends mark their 20th anniversary this year, the event packs in plenty of content — entertainment, special merchandise, and special menus.
At “Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina” in Lost River Delta, you can dine surrounded by the Duffy & Friends world view and enjoy the decorations around the restaurant.

True to its name, the event’s main illustration features Duffy & Friends wrapped in colorful soap bubbles — so cute!

This special set is the same as the one from the previous event “Duffy & Friends Wonderful Kitchen” except for a change in the soup — the salad and main are identical. I’ve covered the salad and the other special set option (Beef Keema Stew Rice) in the article below, so please check it out if you’d like more details.
The placemat and coaster have new designs to match this event, so I’ll cover those later as well. As before, the coaster that comes with the soft drink is one of four designs given out at random, so part of the fun is seeing which one you get.

Detailed review: Duffy Special Set (Seafood)
Potato and Green Pea Soup
The green soup gives off a springtime feel. Tasting it, you really get a solid hit of green pea flavor. The base is potato soup, so the texture has that grainy, potato-soup mouthfeel. The only topping is the croutons on top — there are no actual green peas mixed in, so people who dislike the texture of green peas should still be able to enjoy it. That said, if you dislike the flavor of green peas themselves, take care. I thought that if you keep it secret, even kids who hate green peas might be able to enjoy this one.

Seafood Tomato Cream Rice
Next is the main dish, Seafood Tomato Cream Rice. The Duffy-face portion is the same as the Beef Keema Stew Rice, and the rice itself appears to be butter rice. Duffy’s face is made from mochi.
The seafood tomato cream portion contains shrimp, clams, and scallops. Like the Beef Keema Stew Rice, it tastes as if it has been simmered slowly, with the umami nicely concentrated, and it was delicious. Both the seafood and the tomato cream come through equally strongly, balanced as if perfectly split down the middle. It’s creamy and mellow with a touch of saltiness from the seafood, which makes it a great match for the rice.
If you’re wondering which is tastier — the Beef Keema Stew Rice or the Seafood Tomato Cream Rice — both are so good it’s hard to pick. The best approach may be to choose based on whether you feel like meat or seafood that day. Honestly, both are recommended enough that you could order both as à la carte items (laugh).

Placemat
The set comes with a paper placemat featuring the main illustration of “Duffy & Friends 20th Anniversary: Colorful Happiness.” When folded along its crease lines, the placemat takes on a three-dimensional design with Duffy & Friends appearing in the Cape Cod streetscape. The soft, colorful palette is really adorable.

Coaster
The coaster that comes with the set is given out at random. This time I received “Duffy & Friends with Cape Cod Lighthouse in the background” and “Duffy & Friends from behind.” There are four designs total, and all of them are cute no matter which you get, so part of the fun is seeing which one ends up at your table!

How to get the Duffy Special Set (Seafood)
To enjoy the “Duffy Special Set (Seafood),” you’ll need to head to “Miguel’s El Dorado Cantina” in the Lost River Delta area of Tokyo DisneySea. Note that this restaurant requires Mobile Order, so keep that in mind. If you’re aiming for this set, placing your Mobile Order right after entering the park should give you a smoother experience.

Wrap-up
How was it? The “Duffy Special Set (Seafood)” is a thoroughly satisfying set in every way — looks, taste, and the take-home items. The Seafood Tomato Cream Rice I introduced this time is especially delicious, with a flavor that keeps making you want to come back for more. When you visit Tokyo DisneySea, be sure to try the special set and celebrate the Duffy & Friends 20th anniversary!
