The “Afternoon Tea Set” is a popular menu item served at Dreamers Lounge in Tokyo Disneyland Hotel! From July 1 to September 2, 2020, the lounge is offering a special Summer Afternoon Tea Set themed around Baymax.
I headed over to try it as soon as it launched — and it was so cute, so delicious, and just all-around fantastic!
In this article, I’ll walk you through everything about the Baymax-themed Summer Afternoon Tea Set!

Just reading the menu, it’s hard to tell what each dish looks like or tastes like, so I’ll go through them one by one below!
Soup
First up is the soup.
Today’s pick: Paprika and Carrot Soup!

The color made me brace for an intense carrot flavor… but when I actually tasted it, it was wonderfully balanced!
You can taste the carrot, but it’s soft and gentle, with a consommé-like finish — even kids who dislike carrots should be able to enjoy it!
Sandwiches & Hors d’oeuvres (bottom tier)

Bigfin Reef Squid and Okra Tartare with Tosa-vinegar Tomato Jelly (back glass)
The colors are gorgeous, and the translucent tomato jelly gives off such a refreshing, summery vibe!
As for the flavor — the tomato jelly was light and easy to eat, with a taste reminiscent of ponzu.
Inside, you get the chewy bite of bigfin reef squid alongside something with a crunchy, cucumber-like texture (I couldn’t quite identify it!) — a fun contrast in a single bite.
You’ll catch hints of myoga ginger and shiso here and there, making it a really summery, Japanese-inspired dish!
Sardine Confit and Eggplant Tartelette (back left)
A moist tart shell holds melt-in-your-mouth eggplant, topped with sardine.
The eggplant inside is curry-spiced and has a nice kick!
It pairs beautifully with the sardine — really delicious!
Pulled Pork Tarte Flambée (front left)
Thinly sliced French bread topped with heaps of tender pulled pork — a pizza-style sandwich.
For reference, pulled pork is an American dish made by slow-cooking pork, shredding it, and tossing it in barbecue sauce!
The pulled pork seems to be lightly seared, giving it a nice toasty fragrance that’s really delicious!
This meat-heavy sandwich seems like it would appeal more to men than to women.
Capellini with Pork Tongue in Salted Lemon Sauce (front right)
The sauce isn’t too assertive — clean and light.
The pork tongue was excellent!!
It made for a perfect little palate cleanser between the desserts!
Scones (middle tier)

The scones always come in two varieties: plain plus a limited-time flavor.
The scones here lean on the moist side, so they pair really well with the hors d’oeuvres — almost like eating bread alongside them!
This time’s limited-edition Black Sesame Cocoa scone had a strong, satisfying cocoa flavor and was delicious!
I couldn’t really pick out the black sesame, though…
Also, while clotted cream and honey have been the usual accompaniments in the past, this time they served chocolate cream instead of honey!
Hors d’oeuvres & Desserts (top tier)

Verbena-scented Fig Mousse with Prosciutto
Verbena is a herb with a lemon-like aroma.
Honestly, I didn’t pick up much of a lemony note — to me it tasted more like yogurt.
It was a fresh, surprising combination of textures and flavors I hadn’t really had before!
Eating it together with the prosciutto adds a salty kick — really tasty!
Chocolate Chip Muffin
A chocolate chip muffin topped with an adorable sugar-paste “mochi” decoration.
It was moist and easy to eat, with a nice strong chocolate flavor — delicious!
Dessert Plate

And finally, the dessert plate!
The Baymax decoration is so cute, isn’t it?
Matcha Chiboust with Kinako Cream
In keeping with Baymax’s Japan-inspired setting, this is a Japanese-style dessert.
The matcha chiboust had a strong, satisfying matcha flavor — really delicious!
Between the chiboust and the monaka wafer, there’s a layer of fruit, shiratama mochi, and azuki beans, so each bite delivers a mix of different flavors!
It’s creamy and on the heavier side, so it might be best to start with this one early in the dessert plate!?
Pink Grapefruit and Lychee Jelly, Peach Sorbet
The opposite of the matcha chiboust — these are super refreshing desserts!
The flavor of each fruit comes through clearly, and they’re both excellent!
By the time the dessert plate arrives, many people will already be pretty full, so I’d recommend balancing the creamy chiboust with the jelly and sorbet as you go!
Overall Impressions
So what did you think?
This Summer Afternoon Tea Set leaned into refreshing summer flavors paired with plenty of Japanese-inspired touches that nod to the Baymax movie.
Everything was genuinely delicious, and the visual presentation was just as much fun as the flavors!
You’ll need an online reservation to enjoy this set, and slots are filling up fast — but with the park’s current entry restrictions, cancellations do open up here and there.
(Full disclosure: I’m one of the lucky ones who managed to snag a cancellation this time…♪)
It’s adorable and delicious — definitely give it a try if you get the chance!
