From July 2, 2025, Tokyo Disney Resort has been hosting the special event “Summer Cool Off at Tokyo Disney Resort.” Lots of chilled menu items designed to help you beat the summer heat have been launched across the park’s food locations to coincide with the event.

This time, I’m featuring the “Shaved Ice Sundae (Strawberry)” served at “Ice Cream Cones” in Tokyo Disneyland. Not only is it refreshingly cold, it’s also adorable and delicious — a truly lovely menu item!

Shaved Ice Sundae Overview

Product name: Shaved Ice Sundae (Strawberry)

Price: 850 yen

Location: Ice Cream Cones (World Bazaar, Tokyo Disneyland)

Available: July 1, 2025 – September 15, 2025

Tokyo Disneyland has a dedicated ice cream restaurant called “Ice Cream Cones.” In addition to ice cream, it serves seasonal and event-themed sundaes and soft-serve, making it a very popular spot.

The Shaved Ice Sundae featured here is a special-event menu, so the offering period is fairly short — about two months.

The shop also rarely stays open until park closing — it usually closes early — so it’s a good idea to check the operating hours in the app. Summer brings lots of guests looking for ice cream, and waits can get long during the day. Evenings, nights, or during parades are good times to aim for.

Detailed Review of the Shaved Ice Sundae (Strawberry)

Photo-Worthy in Pink — and with Baymax on Top!

The Shaved Ice Sundae served at Ice Cream Cones is strawberry-flavored, so it’s an adorable, all-pink sundae from top to bottom. Even the soft-serve is pink, so it’s guaranteed to look great in photos! On a sunny day, snapping it with the blue sky or Cinderella Castle in the background should give you a cute, summery shot!

The sundae also comes topped with a Baymax bun. At this summer’s event, Baymax’s Happy Ride has been turned into a Summer Cool Off version, and Baymax also appears in the daytime water-spraying parade “Mission: Cool Down,” so he’s basically the star of the event.

A Strawberry-Lover’s Dream — Strawberry Through and Through

Looking at what’s inside the Shaved Ice Sundae from top to bottom, you get strawberry soft-serve, followed by strawberry fruit pieces, and then strawberry shaved ice — truly an all-strawberry affair.

The strawberry soft-serve is milky but has a firm strawberry flavor — it’s really delicious.

The strawberry fruit is diced, making it easy to eat together with the shaved ice or soft-serve. It’s frozen, so it’s nicely cold, and the slight tartness of the strawberry adds a great accent.

The shaved ice at the bottom is generously drenched in strawberry syrup, so the flavor doesn’t get watered down — it stays refreshing all the way through. Instead of eating it strictly top to bottom, mixing the soft-serve and fruit in with each spoonful lets you enjoy the changing flavors and textures as you go!

By the way, the portion is quite generous — perfect for cooling down on a hot day. That said, once the evening cools off, it might start feeling like a bit much, so depending on the temperature, sharing could be a good call. I shared it with my 4-year-old daughter in the early evening of early July, and since it had cooled down a little by then, it was just slightly more than the two of us needed.

A Lovely Accent to the Refreshing Sundae — the Baymax Bun!

Finally, a quick report on the Baymax bun that comes with the sundae. Baymax buns have been used to decorate many different menu items over the years, and this sundae features one too. Inside the chewy, mochi-like dough is custard cream, which adds a touch of sweetness to the otherwise refreshing sundae — a great accent.

That said, the dough is quite chewy, so you’ll want to be careful when giving it to young children. It’s so cute that you’ll be tempted to dig right in, but the texture is close to mochi, so for toddlers it may be best to either skip it or cut it into very small pieces.

Value for Money

It’s a generous portion, and considering it includes soft-serve, fruit pieces, and a Baymax bun, it’s a fairly luxurious sundae. Still, given that about half of it is shaved ice, I felt 850 yen was a touch on the high side.

Taste

It’s strawberry from start to finish, so strawberry lovers will adore it. The refreshing shaved ice pairs beautifully with the milky soft-serve, making it really delicious. The sweetness of the Baymax bun and the tartness of the fruit work as nice accents, but personally I wanted just a little more sweetness, so I gave it 4.5. Either way, it’s the perfect refreshing menu item for a hot summer’s day!

Ease of Eating

It comes in a cup and you eat it with a long spoon, so it’s easy to manage. One thing to note: on hot days, the soft-serve melts quickly, so you’ll need to eat at a decent pace.

Photo-Worthiness

No question — 5 out of 5! The all-pink look instantly makes you want to shout “so cute!” — it’s incredibly photogenic! It really is a quintessential summer Disney food, so by all means try snapping a lovely photo!

Disney Feel

The Baymax bun on top makes it easy to read as a Disney item. Over the past few years, Baymax has become strongly associated with summer at Tokyo Disneyland, so I’d say this is a perfectly fitting food for summer Disney!
