Tokyo Disney Resort is loaded with souvenir sweets — so many that picking just one can be a real puzzle.
困っている人There are so many options, I always end up overwhelmed…
And the shops are usually packed, so it’s hard to browse calmly…
chakoToday I’m walking you through the stick apple pie — easily one of the most filling souvenirs in the park!
The stick apple pie I’m reviewing today is, in my opinion, the most generous single-serving souvenir sweet at Tokyo Disney Resort.
It launched in May 2021, so it’s still a relatively new addition to the Disney Resort lineup — and a lot of visitors haven’t tried it yet.
In this post I’ll cover taste, how easy it is to share, who makes it, and even a couple of fun ways to enjoy it back home. Stick around.

Stick Apple Pie: A Closer Look
(1) Retro-cute Packaging
The exterior is simple compared to other Disney souvenirs — it comes in a bag, no fancy tin or box. The illustration features park attractions, scenery, and characters tied to specific areas, all in a retro-cute style that’s genuinely charming. Fun fact: this same design appears on stationery, towels, and other goods. Pick up a matching item alongside the pie and you’ve got a coordinated set — great for souvenirs or gifts.

Open the bag and you’ll find 4 individually wrapped pies stacked vertically. The individual wrappers use the same illustration as the outer bag — and on closer inspection, the back of each wrapper is also fully decorated. Honestly, they’re so cute it feels wasteful to toss them.

Inside the individual wrapper, each pie sits in a plastic tray that keeps it from getting crushed in transit.

(2) Taste Test: What Makes It So Good
Now for the actual taste test. The outermost layer is pie crust; inside, you’ll find apple chunks and — surprise — sponge cake. The pie crust is the moist, soft kind rather than the flaky type. I only noticed the sponge after cutting one open with a knife — if you just bit straight in, you’d probably miss it entirely.

Taking a bite, you can tell the sponge adds a soft, fluffy contrast to the pie crust. The apple inside is cut into generous chunks, so you really get that satisfying apple texture as you eat. The combination of moist, fluffy dough with big, juicy apple pieces is genuinely delicious. It has enough volume that a single piece leaves you feeling fully satisfied.
Apple pies often lean heavy on cinnamon, so a lot of people want to know upfront how prominent it is. Here, the cinnamon is present but restrained — neither overpowering nor missing entirely. “Just right” sums it up best. I’m not usually a big cinnamon fan myself, and I still enjoyed it, so even cinnamon-skeptics should give this one a shot.
(3) Who Makes It, and How It Compares Outside the Park
Now, about the manufacturer. Flip the package over and you’ll see “Rague-no-O Sasaki Co., Ltd.” as the maker.

Rague-no-O Sasaki is a confectionery company based in Aomori, Japan — a region famous for its apples. Their signature product, “Patissier no Ringo Stick” (Pâtissier’s Apple Stick), looks to be the same pie sold here at the park. And get this: that very product won a gold medal at the 26th National Confectionery Exposition in 2013. No wonder it’s so good!
If you can buy the same sweet outside the park, the obvious question is: how much cheaper is it? The “Patissier no Ringo Stick” runs ¥800 for a 4-pack outside Disney, versus ¥950 at the park — a ¥150 difference. In my opinion that’s a pretty reasonable markup. Since this comes in a bag rather than a fancy tin or box, the cost difference stays modest.
Overall Rating

Value
“¥950 for 4 pieces” might sound steep at first, but each piece is large, hearty, and genuinely satisfying — so the value works out really well.
On top of that, the markup over the non-Disney “Patissier no Ringo Stick” is only ¥150. Among park souvenirs that you can also find outside the park, that’s a remarkably fair price.
Easy to Share
Individually wrapped, generous portions — perfect as a souvenir to hand out. The fact that it comes in a bag rather than a bulky box is another plus when you’re packing it home. The catch: there are only 4 in a bag, so if you need to share with a large group, this isn’t the one. For a small group, though, it’s an excellent pick. The lucky recipient will be genuinely happy with this one.
Taste
Gold medal at the National Confectionery Exposition for a reason — this thing is delicious. The moist, fluffy texture is genuinely addictive, and I can already see myself buying it again.
Disney Factor
The main reason I knocked it down to 3.5: you can buy essentially the same product outside the park. The Disney touch lives entirely in the bag’s illustration. Many Disney souvenirs come in adorable containers that fans keep as keepsakes long after the sweets are gone — but with this one, once you’ve eaten the pies, there’s nothing distinctly Disney left behind. That tipped the score down a bit.
Ideas to Make It Even Better at Home
The stick apple pie is great as-is, but I wanted to see if I could make it even better. First, I tried popping it in the toaster oven to crisp up the pie crust. Three minutes at 200°C gave the surface a slightly crispier edge, and the apple inside warmed up nicely — a noticeably different experience from eating it cold. You could probably go longer for a crispier crust, but the surface looked close to burning, so I stopped there. If you’re curious, give it a shot.
One thing I realized only after finishing them all: toasted pie + vanilla ice cream would be a killer combo. The next time I buy these, I’m definitely doing this. Perfect for when you want a little at-home indulgence.
Final Verdict
This post covered the basics on Tokyo Disney Resort’s stick apple pie, plus my real take after actually trying one. The pie wraps moist, fluffy dough around big apple chunks and a layer of sponge — substantial, satisfying, and well-balanced. The cinnamon is restrained enough to suit most palates, and a quick run through the toaster oven makes it even better. We also covered the manufacturer and how it compares to the same product outside the park.
Tokyo Disney Resort has tons of other limited-edition treats and souvenirs worth checking out — they’re all part of what makes a trip here memorable.
The stick apple pie is sold at the snack shops inside the park. Give it a try on your next visit!
